Recently, various teams from the mining (construction), engineering and mechanical departments of the LaRonde Mine Complex experienced a proud moment as they completed the installation of the underground reinforcement fan on level 275 of the LaRonde Mine! After 5 years of work, representing an investment of more than 15,000 hours, these teams have succeeded in ensuring the stability of the ventilation network, a major element for a mine more than 3 km deep.

The mechanical work required to lower a constant airflow gradually increases with the depth of the mine. Thus, to carry out this work, which has been increasing over the years, new reinforcement fans had to be installed on level 275. Here is a picture of our colleagues who worked on the project.
