Hyperflo is a fan manufacturer and pump distributor for the industrial and mining sectors. The objective of the project described here is to develop a new generation of efficient and quiet fans adapted to underground mining applications.
Knowing that underground mine ventilation costs can represent as much as 50% of a mine’s energy requirements, Hyperflo is promising to make mining operations a lot cleaner.
Technosub - Failure analysis of a pump impeller
Technosub is a world leader in the field of dewatering solutions, providing water processing technologies to pumping solutions for both the mining and industrial sectors.
As part of their commitment to continuously improve their products, Technosub mandated Optis to investigate and address recurring failures of a pump impeller.
Bell - Ducted fan external noise reduction
Over the last five years, significant advances have been achieved in the field of urban air mobility (ex. Uber) and airborne parcel delivery (ex. Amazon).
Among the challenges that must be overcome before air taxis and UAVs can be deployed within our cities and neighbourhoods, aircraft noise emissions and their impact on the public’s acceptance will need to be addressed.Agnico Eagle - Optimization & instrumentation of main exhaust fans

The main exhaust fans experienced recurrent and unexpected blade failure, motivating the need to identify the root cause of the problem and propose corrective actions to avoid future interruptions.
